What is the Fire of London?
The Fire of London occurred on September 2, 1666 and was one of the largest fires recorded in history. It was started by a spark in a bakery on Pudding Lane and spread quickly because the city was made mainly of wood and also because it was the dry season. Not many people perished, but some believe it was the work of the devil because of the year 1666, and the number "666" being the devil's number.
